COMPANY
PROFILE
QFS was formed in 1996 by Hennie Smit and Herman
Smit. The company started out selling a range of
absolute rated cartridges. The applications focused
on pharmaceutical, food & beverage and chemical
filtration.
The product range was increased in 1998 to include
micro filtration hollow fibre membrane systems.
The need for micro filtration with low maintenance
costs resulted in QFS taking up the Memcor agency
for Southern Africa.
It quickly became apparent that South Africa could
not afford to purchase complete plants from Australia.
QFS signed a licence agreement with Memcor and have
been manufacturing the Memcor membrane equipment
in South Africa from 1999. In this process QFS built
the capability to manufacture, install and service
the Memcor equipment.
Further need for other membrane related plants from
our customers resulted in Ultra filtration, Nano
filtration and Reverse Osmosis being added to our
product range. QFS have the capability to do pilot
studies on specialized applications and manufacture
the applicable membrane based plants.
